Overnight hike – Volcano Tajumulco

You can start this hike from various locations in Guatemala. You will be picked up from your hotel or house and brought to the trailhead by private transportation. The ascent is approximately five hours long. At about 5 PM, you will hike to the highest summit to witness the breathtaking sunset. Afterwards, you’ll make camp for the night. The next morning, you’ll rise at 4:30 AM and return to the summit to observe the sunrise. From the highest summit of Tajumulco you can see various volcanoes, the border with Mexico, the Pacific ocean, and the longest mountain chain in Central America. After breakfast, you will start your journey back.
