Volcan Taumulco is a moderate to difficult day hike. You’ll climb from 3,000m at the trailhead to the peak at 4,220m (almost 14,000ft), the highest point in Central America. From the top of Tajumulco there are panoramic views of the western highlands from the Pacific coast and Mexico.
We will pick you up at your hotel at 4:00am and drive 2 ½ hours to the trailhead. From there it takes approximately 4 hours to climb to the top and 3 hours to descend.
